Denver Airport (DIA) to Beaver Creek Car Service

The Drive

Beaver Creek is about ten miles beyond Vail on the same interstate, so the road is familiar to anyone who has looked at the Vail transfer, but the extra distance and the resort’s layout change the ending. From DIA the route crosses Denver to I-70 westbound and climbs into the foothills at Floyd Hill. Idaho Springs and Georgetown pass on the right, and then the road rises to the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel, which crosses under the Continental Divide at 11,158 feet.

West of the tunnel the road descends to Silverthorne and Dillon at exit 205, passes Frisco at exit 203 and Copper Mountain at exit 195, and climbs Vail Pass to 10,662 feet. The descent from the pass into East Vail is the steepest sustained grade of the trip, and it is where winter tires and a chauffeur who drives it weekly earn their keep. Traffic thins after the Vail exits at 180 and 176 because much of the ski traffic has peeled off, and the valley narrows before it opens again at Avon.

Exit 167 is the Avon and Beaver Creek exit. From the interstate the road runs south through Avon, the working town at the foot of the resort with its own hotels, restaurants and grocery stores, and then climbs to the Beaver Creek entry gate. Beaver Creek is a gated resort; the gate marks the boundary between public roads and the resort’s private road system. Past the gate the road winds up to the village, with turnoffs for Bachelor Gulch and the ski-in, ski-out residences along the way. Arrowhead is a short drive west of the main entrance with its own access rather than a continuation through the village.

Hazards specific to this route are the Vail Pass descent, the extra ten miles of I-70 in whatever weather the valley is producing that day, and the resort roads themselves, which are steep, well plowed and best driven by someone who knows the switchbacks. In summer the drive runs about two hours and fifteen minutes; on a snowy holiday weekend plan for the top of the range.

Where We Meet You

At Denver International the pre-arranged car service area is on Level 5 of Jeppesen Terminal at Island 2, signed LIMO. From the east side of baggage claim use Doors 505 to 507 or 511 to 513; from the west side use 504 to 506 or 510 to 512. Door 511 on the east and Door 506 on the west are the two that put you closest to Island 2.

Because the airport does not allow chauffeurs to wait at the curb, your vehicle sits in a holding lot until you check in or text us that you have your bags. It reaches Island 2 within a few minutes. Your flight has been tracked from departure, so the chauffeur is positioned for your actual arrival time whether you land early, late or at a different gate than planned.

Families arriving with children, strollers and ski bags often prefer to be met inside. Ask for an inside meet-and-greet when you book and your chauffeur will be at baggage claim, ready to take the cart. From there you walk out together to the vehicle, which is a simpler routine than managing everyone across a busy pickup island. Either way, every bag is loaded by the chauffeur and every child seat you requested is already installed.

Family ski trips are the core of this route, so start with capacity. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade and 2026 Chevrolet Suburban each carry up to five passengers, with checked bags in the cargo area and skis and snowboards in a rooftop carrier. A family of four with a week of luggage and two pairs of skis fits comfortably; a family of five with five sets of gear is a closer fit, and we will tell you if a larger vehicle is the wiser choice.

Two families traveling together, or a multigenerational group, usually move to the 2025 Mercedes-Benz Executive Sprinter, which seats up to 13, or the 2025 Ford Transit, which seats up to 14. Both carry skis and boards inside the vehicle, and both let everyone ride together rather than splitting across two SUVs. Grandparents, teenagers and toddlers all arrive at the same time at the same door. For a couple celebrating something, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is available by request.
