Aspen Airport (ASE) Private Transfers to Aspen and Snowmass

The Drive

Both legs from ASE are short, and both begin the same way. Your chauffeur pulls out of the Ground Transportation Circle, leaves the airport and joins Highway 82, the road that connects the airport to everything in the upper valley.

For the Aspen core the vehicle turns toward town. Highway 82 runs the roughly 4 miles into Aspen, and about 10 minutes after leaving the circle you are at a hotel entrance or a residence in the West End. In winter the same leg takes about 15 minutes, mostly because of holiday traffic entering town and snowpacked side streets in the neighborhoods. Aspen Highlands is a short additional run from the edge of town. The compact core means your chauffeur does not circle for a parking space or leave you at a loading zone a block away; the vehicle stops at the door.

For Snowmass Village the chauffeur turns away from Aspen and follows Highway 82 down the valley to Brush Creek Road, the turnoff that sits about 5 miles outside Aspen. Brush Creek Road climbs to Base Village, Snowmass Mall and the residential roads above them. The whole leg is about 10 miles and about 15 minutes in good conditions, or about 20 minutes in winter. The upper roads in Snowmass are steep and hold snow, so an AWD vehicle on winter tires makes the difference between a drop at the door and a drop at the bottom of the driveway.

Highway 82 is a state highway with local traffic, and even these short legs are slower during the afternoon commute and on peak ski weekends. East of Aspen the highway continues over Independence Pass, which closes every winter, usually in the first week of November, and reopens the Thursday before Memorial Day. It does not affect any airport transfer, since the airport lies on the Glenwood Springs side of town, but guests planning a summer drive to the pass should know that it is open only in the warm months.

For guests who prefer a different vehicle for the rest of their stay, or who want a second stop between the airport and lodging, tell us when you book. With such a short transfer, a stop for groceries in town adds only a few minutes.

Where We Meet You

Pre-arranged pickups at Aspen/Pitkin County Airport use the Ground Transportation Circle, which is directly outside baggage claim. Collect your bags, walk out the door, and your chauffeur is in the circle with the vehicle. Because the terminal is small and the circle is a few steps from the carousel, most guests are loaded and moving within minutes of getting their luggage. If you would like a name-sign meet inside at baggage claim, ask when you book.

We track every flight into ASE, including the holds and go-arounds that are part of flying into a mountain airport. If your flight is delayed, your chauffeur waits; if it arrives early, the chauffeur is already there. If it diverts, we reroute to the diversion airport and confirm the new plan with you by phone.

Private aviation at Aspen arrives at Atlantic Aviation, the FBO on the field. For jet arrivals we meet at the FBO with the vehicle positioned for a direct load, and we ask for the tail number and estimated arrival when you book so the chauffeur is in place before the aircraft is on the ground. Vehicles for This Route

Even on a 10-minute transfer the vehicle matters, because it is the first thing you see after a long day of flying and the thing that has to climb a snowpacked driveway in Snowmass. Parties of up to five ride in the 2025 Cadillac Escalade or the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban, both AWD on winter tires with rooftop ski carriers.

Groups of six to fourteen ride in the 2025 Mercedes-Benz Executive Sprinter, which seats 13, or the 2025 Ford Transit, which seats 14, with skis and boards stowed inside. A family or friends group landing together on a single flight fits in one vehicle rather than a string of taxis.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is available for ASE arrivals by request. For guests arriving at Atlantic Aviation who want the transfer to match the flight, it is the vehicle to ask for.

Child seats are installed on request, Wi-Fi and bottled water are on board, and the chauffeur loads and unloads the luggage. When you book, tell us the passenger count, the number of bags, whether you have ski or snowboard gear and whether you need child seats, and we will assign the right vehicle. Capacity is not unlimited in any vehicle, and we will suggest a second one when the party calls for it.
