Airport Transfers and Days in Snowmass
Summit Black Car provides private, prearranged chauffeur service in Snowmass Village. We are based in Breckenridge, founded by Andrew Siegel, a former Colorado State Trooper and executive protection professional, and our chauffeurs live in the mountain towns they drive. Each booking comes with a named chauffeur, a late-model SUV or Sprinter, and flight tracking on every airport pickup. We are available 24/7 and serve Pitkin, Eagle and Summit Counties.
Snowmass is the family side of Aspen Snowmass, with more ski terrain than Aspen Mountain and lodging that is built around groups, kids and full-week stays. That shapes how guests use us: airport transfers with a lot of luggage and ski bags, a Sprinter for a multi-family trip, the 15 minute run into Aspen for dinner, and ski school drops at Base Village on a schedule that works for parents. Getting to Snowmass Village
Snowmass Village sits up Brush Creek Road, which leaves Highway 82 about 5 miles before Aspen. Whichever airport you use, the last few miles are the same: the turn at Brush Creek, the climb into the village, and a drop at Base Village, the Mall, or a private home on the slopes.
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) is closest, about 10 miles and 15 minutes in normal conditions, or about 20 minutes in winter. From the airport the chauffeur heads down valley on Highway 82 for a few minutes and turns up Brush Creek Road, so you never pass through the Aspen core. Prearranged pickups meet in the Ground Transportation Circle directly outside baggage claim. ASE has limited commercial service and is weather sensitive; when a flight diverts to Eagle County, Grand Junction or Rifle, we reroute the pickup. Our Aspen Airport transportation page covers the pickup in detail. ASE is closed from April 4 to November 19, 2027 for construction; see the FAQ below.
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) in Gypsum is the reliable commercial alternative, with nonstop winter flights from many hubs. The drive is about 1 hour 30 minutes in good conditions and 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes in winter: I-70 west through Glenwood Canyon to exit 116, then Highway 82 southeast through Carbondale and Basalt to the Brush Creek turn. Because the turnoff comes before Aspen, Snowmass is a few minutes shorter from EGE than the Aspen core is. See the EGE to Aspen route page for the full drive.
Denver International Airport (DIA) is about 215 miles and 3 hours 55 minutes in summer, or 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes in winter and on holiday weekends. The chauffeur takes I-70 west through the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel, over Vail Pass, past Vail, Avon and Eagle, through Glenwood Canyon, and then Highway 82. See the DIA to Snowmass route page.
For private aviation, Atlantic Aviation is the FBO at ASE and Vail Valley Jet Center is the FBO at EGE. Our private jet transfer page explains ramp-side pickups.

Winter Roads and Closures
Snowmass has one way in and one way out in winter: Brush Creek Road down to Highway 82, then Highway 82 either up to Aspen or down valley toward Glenwood Springs. Independence Pass, the summer road east of Aspen, closes each year around the first week of November and reopens the Thursday before Memorial Day, so from November through May every arrival from Denver, Vail or Eagle comes through Glenwood Canyon and Basalt.
Glenwood Canyon is the pinch point. That stretch of I-70 between mile markers 116 and 133 closes for rockfall and mudslides, sometimes for hours. There is no short detour, so our chauffeur holds at a safe spot, tracks the reopening, and adjusts your arrival rather than driving hundreds of miles around. For Denver transfers, the Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass also close several times each winter for storms and crashes, and we plan the same way: wait, watch, and go when the road opens.
Colorado’s traction law runs September 1 to May 31 on I-70 between Morrison and Dotsero, which covers the interstate portion of the drive from either Denver or Eagle. It requires AWD or 4WD with proper winter tread, or chains. Every SUV and Sprinter we run meets it all season, and Brush Creek Road on a snowy morning is exactly the kind of climb they are equipped for.

Where We Pick Up and Drop Off in Snowmass Village
Snowmass has two main village areas and they are not the same drop. Base Village is the newer core at the bottom of the slopes, home to the Limelight Snowmass, the Viceroy, the ice rink and restaurants, and the gondola. The Snowmass Mall is the original village hub, with its own restaurants, ski school meeting areas and lift access. Tell us which one your lodging or ski school uses and the chauffeur will bring you to the right curb; the walk between them with gear and kids is longer than it looks.
Hotel drops we make regularly include the Viceroy Snowmass with its motor court, the Limelight Snowmass at Base Village, and the Westin Snowmass. Each has a loading area, and the chauffeur coordinates with the bell staff so bags go straight from the vehicle to the room.
A large share of Snowmass guests stay in private homes and condos on the ski-in/ski-out slopes above the village. These are door-to-door pickups. Give us the address and any gate code or access note at booking and the chauffeur will have it in hand. Winter driveways can be steep, and our AWD SUVs handle them without drama.
Town Park is the pickup point we use for events and for guests who would rather meet at an easy landmark than at a residence. For arrivals at ASE, we meet in the Ground Transportation Circle outside baggage claim; private jet passengers are met at Atlantic Aviation.

Getting Around Snowmass Village Without a Rental Car
Once you are in the village, most days do not need a car at all. The days that do are the ones we cover.
Aspen for dinner. The core of Aspen is about 15 minutes away, and the restaurants, bars and shops there draw Snowmass guests most evenings. We drive you in, wait or return at an agreed time, and bring you back up Brush Creek Road with no one in your party worrying about the drive down or the parking.
Skiing the other three mountains. Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are all a short drive from Snowmass. A morning drop at whichever base you choose and an afternoon pickup gives you the whole Aspen Snowmass ticket without a shuttle schedule.
Ski school and kids. Parents often book a chauffeur for the Base Village ski school drop while the adults go on to Highlands or Aspen Mountain, then a reverse run in the afternoon. We build the timing around the ski school schedule.
Groceries and house setup. Guests in private homes book an hour or two on arrival day to stock the kitchen, pick up rental gear, or run down valley to Basalt.
Weddings, reunions and corporate retreats. The Sprinter and Transit move a wedding party or a company offsite between the hotels, private homes and venues on a fixed schedule; see our wedding transportation and corporate transportation pages. For a day with several stops, an hourly booking keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you throughout.

Vehicles for Snowmass Village Trips
Snowmass trips skew larger than most, so vehicle choice matters here.
For a couple or a family of up to five, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade is the standard vehicle, with a rooftop ski carrier in winter. The 2026 Chevrolet Suburban seats the same five and carries more luggage, which is usually the better pick for a full-week ski trip with hard cases and boot bags.
For two or three families traveling together, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz Executive Sprinter seats up to 13 with skis and boards carried inside the vehicle, and the 2025 Ford Transit seats up to 14. One Sprinter from DIA is easier to manage than three SUVs, and it keeps the group together for the long drive.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is available by request for guests who want the ultra-luxury option for an arrival or a special evening.
Every vehicle is AWD or 4WD on winter tires with Wi-Fi and bottled water. Child seats are available on request and are common on Snowmass bookings; tell us the ages when you book. The chauffeur loads and unloads all luggage. Please give us the passenger count, bag count, ski bags and child seats so the vehicle we assign fits the whole party comfortably. See the fleet page.

Planning Your Departure from Snowmass Village
For a flight out of ASE, allow about 15 to 20 minutes for the drive plus your airline’s check-in time, with extra on busy winter mornings. If ASE is weather-closed on departure day we can reposition you to EGE, and we will let you know as soon as we see it.
For EGE, plan the 1 hour 30 minute drive plus 30 to 45 minutes of winter margin for Glenwood Canyon, plus check-in. For DIA, the drive is about 3 hours 55 minutes in summer and up to 5 hours 30 minutes in winter; add the same margin and your check-in time. Sunday afternoons and holiday Mondays are the slowest eastbound periods on I-70, so a Sunday DIA departure should leave Snowmass early. Your chauffeur will confirm the pickup time the day before.

Why a Local Chauffeur Beats Rideshare and Rentals Here
Snowmass is built for arriving without a car. Lodging is at the lifts, the village is compact, and the trips that actually need a vehicle are airport transfers and evenings in Aspen. A rental SUV for a week mostly sits in a garage, and a family arriving at DIA with skis, boot bags and car seats faces a four-hour mountain drive before the vacation starts.
Rideshare in the Roaring Fork Valley is thin compared with a city. There are fewer drivers, availability drops in bad weather and late at night, and a driver coming from down valley may take a long time to reach Snowmass. Prearranged service means a chauffeur committed to your pickup in advance, tracking your flight, and waiting when you land.
The drive is the other reason. From Denver, the route crosses the Continental Divide, Vail Pass and Glenwood Canyon, all of which close in winter, and the interstate is under the traction law all season. Our chauffeurs drive these roads every week, know the timing on storm days, and make the hold or go decision for you. Brush Creek Road and the ski-in/ski-out driveways above the village are steep and snowy, and a properly equipped SUV with a chauffeur who knows them is the difference between a smooth arrival and a stuck rental.
Finally, groups. Getting a dozen people and their gear from an airport to a Snowmass home in one vehicle, on one schedule, is what the Sprinter is for, and it is hard to replicate with rideshare or several rentals.

Frequently Asked Questions
About 10 miles and 15 minutes in normal conditions, or about 20 minutes in winter. The chauffeur goes down Highway 82 from the airport and turns up Brush Creek Road, so the drive skips the Aspen core entirely. Pickups meet in the Ground Transportation Circle outside baggage claim.
ASE is closest but has limited flights and weather risk. EGE is about 1 hour 30 minutes away with more nonstop winter service. DIA is about 4 hours but often has the only nonstop from your home city. For a large family with a lot of gear, a single Sprinter from DIA is frequently the simplest plan.
Yes. ASE is closed to all commercial and general aviation from April 4, 2027 at 11 p.m. to November 19, 2027 at 7 p.m. During that period Snowmass arrivals come through EGE or DIA, and we run the ground transfer from either.
Whichever your lodging or ski school uses. Base Village is the newer core with the Limelight, the Viceroy and the gondola; the Snowmass Mall is the original hub with its own lifts and restaurants. If you are not sure, give us the property name and the chauffeur will sort out the right curb.
Yes. Our Escalades, Suburbans and Sprinters are AWD or 4WD on winter tires, and our chauffeurs drive the roads above Snowmass through the winter. Send the address and any gate or access instructions when you book, and let us know if the driveway is unusually steep so we can plan the approach.
Yes, on request. Tell us the number and ages of the children when you book. Child seats are common on Snowmass trips and we install them before the pickup so the vehicle is ready when you walk out.
About 15 minutes each way via Brush Creek Road and Highway 82. Book a drop and a return, or keep the chauffeur on an hourly basis if the evening includes more than one stop. Our Aspen car service page covers the town side.
The Mercedes-Benz Executive Sprinter seats up to 13 and the Ford Transit up to 14, with skis and boards carried inside. Luggage space is real but not unlimited, so give us the exact count of passengers, checked bags and ski bags and we will confirm the right vehicle or suggest two.
